Pediatric Hematology & Oncology & BMT
Pediatric Hematology deals with disorders that affect blood production and blood clotting in children. During their early childhood, defects in blood production can result from nutritional deficiencies such as megaloblastic anaemia, iron deficiency anaemia or hemolytic anemias like Thalassemia, & Sickle cell Anaemia.
Pediatric Oncology is a specialised area of expertise which helps children with acute leukaemia, neuroblastoma, lymph node cancer, and brain tumours to be treated and cured to help them live a better life. The cause of childhood malignancies is unknown yet the majority of these tumors & cancers are treatable.
